Custom domains. Deep links. Updated process of short links creation. UX/UI changes. Safety improvements.

You can now connect your own custom domains directly in Slimlink, without having to contact the service support. This allows you to replace the platform default domain with your own branded domain in short links, helping reinforce brand identity and build more trust with recipients.

The feature is available to all account owners, including those on the free plan. The number of domains you can add depends on your subscription tier - higher plans allow more connected domains (see Pricing).

For a detailed custom domains description, see below.

Slimlink now supports deep links - they work when a link is opened from a mobile device and take the user directly to a specific screen inside the app, if the app is installed.

If the app is not installed, or the deep link cannot be triggered, you can specify a fallback URL - an alternative address the user will be redirected to (typically a mobile version of the website). This ensures that the link always works correctly, even when the app is unavailable on the device.

This feature extends the capabilities of short links and is available only on paid plans, starting from the Essential tier.

For a detailed deep links description, see below.

We’ve redesigned the link creation flow to make the service easier to work with. Creating a short link now takes less time, and the overall experience of working with the system has been improved. As part of this update, the interface was streamlined and support for creating deep links was added.

For a detailed process description, see below.

UX/UI changes

System-wide calendar update

The calendar in Slimlink is now unified across all sections - from analytics to date filtering settings for links and QR codes. The updated interface displays two months at once, which makes it faster to select a date range without constantly switching between months.

Quick presets with common ranges are available on the left (for example, Last 7 days, Month to date, All time). This is especially useful when reviewing traffic, checking peak activity, or preparing reports.

The calendar now works the same everywhere - on analytics, links, QR codes pages, and data export - providing a consistent and more intuitive experience.

  • The Status dropdown - lets you quickly filter links by their current state. It supports all key statuses - for example, active, expired, or disabled . This makes it easier to navigate large lists, find the right links faster, and work more efficiently with a high volume of records.
  • The Status column - allows you to instantly see the current state of each link without opening its details page. The list is now more informative: the status is visible at a glance, making it easier to navigate large datasets, spot expired or disabled links, and monitor link activity without extra clicks.
  • The Deep Link column - shows whether a link is a deep link. The cell displays an on/off status, allowing you to distinguish deep links from regular links without opening the link details.
  • The Actions options are now displayed directly in the link table, so you can edit, copy, view analytics, or delete a link without opening additional menus. This makes everyday link management faster and reduces the number of clicks.

Analytics section

  • In the Analytics section, the User/Owner filter has been updated, allowing you to view statistics separately for regular users and for the account owner. This means you can now analyze data not only for team members invited to the account, but also for the owner themselves, making reports clearer and simplifying traffic analysis within the company account.
  • On the Analytics page of a specific link, you now see not only its title, but also the short link itself and the original full URL. This makes analysis more convenient: you can immediately identify which link the data belongs to, quickly copy the needed version, and avoid switching back to the main list.
  • The notification text shown when downloading an analytics report in CSV format has been updated. The system now displays the following messages:

Safety improvements

Secure API key delivery

When integrating via API, an access key is issued upon request through an account manager. Once a Slimlink manager sets up an API connection for a client, they specify the client email address, and the system automatically generates the token and sends it to that email.

The key is not stored in plain form anywhere in the system: it is not visible to the manager, does not appear in the client interface, is not duplicated in the dashboard, and cannot be viewed again after it is issued. This ensures that the key remains accessible only to the client.

To manage custom domains, a new Domains section has been added to the sidebar menu for users with the owner role. This page displays a list of all connected domains, including the domain name, connection date, external ID, link to the custom 404 page, and current status.

If a domain is marked as Pending verification, it has been added but the required DNS records are either not yet available or confirmed by the system. The Verified status means the domain has been successfully validated and is ready to use. The list can be sorted by name, connection date, or status.

The number of domains that can be added depends on the selected pricing plan (see Pricing). If the limit is reached, the system will suggest upgrading to a higher plan when attempting to add a new domain.

The domain being added must be unique. If a domain has already been registered in the system by any user, it cannot be added again until the existing entry is deleted or deactivated.

How to use:

  • Open the Domains section and click Connect your domain.
  • In the opened window, enter the following details and select Connect your domain:
  • Configure DNS with your domain registrar:
  • Click I got it all to add domain to the system.

The domain has been added, but verification can take up to 48 hours, so the initial domain status will be Pending verification. Once the verification is successfully completed, the status will change to Verified.

Information for added domains can be edited regardless of their status. To do this, click the icon next to the domain you want to modify, make your changes (you can edit External ID and Custom 404 page), and click Save. This will not reset the domain existing verification, nor will it delay verification if the domain current status is Pending verification.

A deep link is a tool that directs users opening a link on a mobile device not just to a website, but directly to a specific section or screen within an app. In Slimlink, deep links are created based on an existing short URL - once the short link is generated, you can configure it to open the required section of the app.

The deep link functionality works only for users opening the link on mobile devices. Users accessing the link from desktops will be directed to the original long URL specified in the Basic settings of the short link.

How to use:

  • The deep link feature can be used when creating a new short link or when editing an existing one:
  • When editing an existing URL, select Edit against the required entry in the Links section.
  • In the Deep Link section of the Edit link window, specify:
  • Click Save to apply the changes.

The system will validate the link, and if everything is correct, the short URL will redirect users to the specified screen or section inside the app. If the app is not installed, the link will instead open the defined fallback address.

All created deep links appear in the main list of short URLs in the Links section, marked by On in the Deep Link column.

The process of creating short links has been optimized - it’s now faster and more convenient to work with:

  • The interface has been improved, including an updated domain list with a more intuitive selection flow and the ability to mark domains as favorites.
  • A tag counter has been added to show how many tags are used and how many are allowed under the current plan, along with several other enhancements that streamline link creation.

How to use:

  • Open the Links section and click Create a new link to initiate a new link creation flow.
  • In the opened window, fill in the following fields and click Create:
  • The new link is created, and at this stage you can adjust its expiration date and use additional options:

Expiration Date is set to 30 days by default. You can change it by clicking the Edit icon and selecting a different date. You can also choose one of the preset options: 24 hours, 7 days, 30 days, or never.

Customization options - settings that open the Edit link screen. The available sections include basic settings, QR code, tags, and deep links.

Basic settings - section where you can change the destination URL, domain, short link slug, expiration date, and title.

Deep Link - section where you can add deep link functionality to a regular short link, so it opens a specific screen or section inside the app (see Deep links).

QR code - section where a QR code for the short link is generated automatically. It’s always enabled by default, and you can download the QR code from the browser in any supported format.

Tags - tags make it easy to organize your short links. The number of tags you can use depends on your tariff plan. If there’s a limit, the system will show how many tags are already used and how many are available in total. If your plan has no limits, these details are not displayed.

The Edit link page also includes the following options:

Duplicate link - creates a copy of the existing short link with the same settings, which is useful when you need to quickly generate a similar link.

View analytics - opens the link statistics, including clicks and other data, so you can track its performance.

Delete link - permanently removes the short link from the system. Once deleted, the link becomes inactive and unavailable for any further redirects.

Once the link is created, it is added to the Links section. This page has also been updated: it now shows whether a Deep Link is enabled, and the Actions icons are displayed in a more visible way:
