Two-factor authentication (2FA) for extra account protection and identity verification during login
Now all authorized users can enable two-factor authentication when signing in, ensuring that only the account owner can gain access to the platform.
This approach improves the overall level of security by adding an extra verification step and protects data even if a password is compromised. It acts as an additional safeguard, confirming identity through a 6-digit code and reducing the risk of unauthorized access.
For a detailed 2FA description, see below.

Automatic GeoIP Database Update
The GeoIP database is now updated automatically. This ensures more accurate determination of clients' locations by using always up-to-date data on IP addresses.

Email verification during registration to protect the account and ensure proper access
Now, when creating a new account, users will be asked to verify their email address (except when signing up with Google authentication).
After a user provides their details, we’ll send a message with an activation link to the specified email. Such email confirmation helps keep Slimlink account secure and ensures access is tied to a valid, active address.
For a detailed 2FA description, see below.

Email verification applies both to new and existing users
For registered users who are not logged in, email address verification will be required upon system login.
For users who are already registered and logged in, email verification will only be requested after a period of inactivity.
If a user has not accessed the system for more than 7 days, they will be automatically logged out and will need to verify their email again at the next login.

Two-factor authentication: detailed description
We strongly recommend all corporate users enforce mandatory two-factor authentication (2FA) for their employees to enhance security

Two-factor authentication is available to all authorized Slimlink users and works with any verification app
(e.g., Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, etc.).
The 6-digit code will be required under certain conditions:
- Logging in after a prolonged period of inactivity
- Changing the account password
- Updating user information, such as phone number or email
- Uploading large volumes of analytics data
If the 6-digit code is unavailable, you can use one of the ten recovery codes provided when two-factor authentication was activated. You have up to five attempts to log in using 2FA.
How to use:
- Log in to your Slimlink account and open your profile page.
- Select 2FA: Enabled from the 2FA menu in the top right corner of the screen.

- Scan the QR code displayed in the pop-up window using your verification app. If the code doesn’t work, copy the setup key manually and enter it into the app. Then, in the same window, provide the 6-digit code displayed in the verification application.
- If the automatic validation is successful, the next screen is displayed. Here, you need to copy or write down all the recovery codes. They will allow you to access your account if the 6-digit code is lost or unavailable.
- Click Enable 2FA.

- Two-factor authentication is activated. Click Go to system to continue using the platform.
- When two-factor authentication is enabled, the system will request a 6-digit code in addition to your login and password whenever you perform important account actions or log in after a period of inactivity:

If the code is lost or unavailable, you can access your account using one of 10 recovery codes provided at the time of 2FA activation (each code can be used for authentication only once):

Email verification: detailed description
Email verification is now used to confirm the correctness of the provided information and to ensure Slimlink account security
After entering a username, password, and email address, you will receive an email containing an activation link to complete the account setup.

The link remains valid for 24 hours.

If the email has not been verified within this time, and if you try to log in or open an expired link, you will be prompted to complete the verification again via a new link.

Once the email is successfully verified, you will gain access to the account and all Slimlink functionality available under the selected plan.
